Safety first

Sharing where you are should make a night out safer, never make you trackable. Here's exactly how it works.

Last updated 16 August 2026

Our four rules for location

  • Opt-in: sharing is off until you switch it on, every time.
  • Trip-limited: only the members of that one trip can see you — never other trips, never the public.
  • Auto-expiring: you choose 1 hour, until tonight, or the whole trip. It switches itself off.
  • Instantly stoppable: one tap ends sharing and your pin disappears immediately.

No location history

We don't build a trail of where you've been. While sharing is on, your group sees your current position. When it ends, that position is deleted. Photos on your atlas are placed by the place you tag, not by silent background tracking.

Staying safe on a trip

  • Agree a meeting point in the Plan tab before a big night out.
  • Only share with groups you actually know — invite links can be forwarded.
  • Remove people who leave the group; organisers can do this in the Group tab.
  • Keep your phone charged and note local emergency numbers (112 across the EU, 999 in the UK).
  • Travel insurance is your own responsibility — Planazo doesn't provide any cover.

Report someone or something

If a member is harassing you, sharing your location without consent, or posting content that shouldn't be there, email safety@planazo.co.uk. We aim to respond within 24 hours and can suspend accounts while we investigate. If you're in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first.

Block and leave

You can leave any trip at any time from the Group tab. Leaving removes your access, stops any sharing, and hides your pin from that group straight away.
