How to plan a hen or stag do abroad
Planning a hen or stag do means juggling a big group, mixed budgets and someone who absolutely must not find out the surprises. Here's how to keep it organised.

Start with the guest of honour
Ask what they definitely do and don't want — a quiet spa weekend and a 3-night party trip are very different plans. Get a guest list from them, then take over.
Be upfront about cost
Share an estimated cost per person before anyone commits, including travel, accommodation and activities. People are far happier paying a known amount than getting surprise bills later.
Decide early whether the group covers the guest of honour's share, and include it in the estimate.
Collect deposits early
Ask for a deposit when people confirm. It locks in numbers, protects the organiser and makes booking group activities much easier.
Plan one or two big moments
A group dinner, a boat trip or an activity everyone does together is what people remember. Fill the rest with flexible time, and let people opt out of extras they don't want to pay for.
Keep one source of truth
Group chats move fast and important details get lost. Keep times, addresses, dress codes and costs in one shared itinerary everyone can check.
How Planazo helps
Create a trip in Planazo, invite the group by email or code, add each plan with a time, place and cost, and track who's paid on the Money tab. Shared photos stay together afterwards, too.
